Wes
has been playing guitar and sax since he was a wee lad. He
pretty much has always had music running through his head
unless distracted by food or cleavage. Into documentaries,
most Jimi Hendrix, George Carlin, Oscar Peterson, 70's Playboy's
(for the articles...seriously) and evolution; biologically,
cosmologically, and personally. No crystals please. He's fully
accepted the cessation of oceanic convection and the ensuing
ice age. Wes is looking to make records right up until the
rapture.
He
started his career as a tenor sax player and over the years
has morphed into a singer/songwriter with a smidge of guitar/sax
hero. He works as a freelance musician in Chicago and is extremely
thankful to get to do what he loves for a living. In a given
week Wes could end up doing a solo acoustic set at The House
of Blues to playing in a 17-piece "orchestra" at
some swank corporate event. Although he spends a lot of time
playing other peoples' music, Wes has never stopped writing,
recording and performing as an artist with The E-mics, and
now with the Wes John Trio. His new CD, WesJohnTrio Live
at the Vic Theater, is set to be released early 2007. |
